MW4 Beta Patch Notes (August 30): Double XP, Transit 213 24/7, and 6v6 Gunfight

Infinity Ward’s August 30 Open Beta update turns on Double XP and Double Weapon XP at 10 AM PT, adds a Transit 213 24/7 playlist and 6v6 Gunfight on Kill Block, and ships a short Warzone loot and HUD pass.

Infinity Ward has published the August 30 Modern Warfare 4 Beta patch notes — Open Beta day three. The headline is a boost: Double XP and Double Weapon XP go live today at 10:00 AM PT, aimed at Level 30 and the Beta Forged Blueprint. Playlist-side, Transit 213 gets a dedicated 24/7 queue and 6v6 Gunfight lands on Kill Block.

Saturday’s Combat Outpost drop is still August 29. Friday’s TTK, movement, and aim-assist rewrite is August 28.

Infinity Ward says more work is coming. They are still patching every full day of Open Beta.

Double XP today

Double XP and Double Weapon XP are on from 10:00 AM PT. The studio is explicit about the target: get to Level 30 for the Beta Forged Blueprint, and use the Weapon XP to level guns while the window is open.

Open Beta still caps at 30. If you are sitting in the teens after Friday and Saturday, this is the grind day. Transit 213 24/7 and 6v6 Gunfight are short, repeatable queues built for that.

What’s new today

Transit 213, the MW4 Open Beta map getting a dedicated 24/7 playlist on August 30

Transit 213 24/7 is the content drop. Early Access already ran a Transit playlist on August 23; this is the Open Beta version, up all day. Score limits on that map go up so matches last longer: Team Deathmatch 100 → 150, Kill Confirmed 75 → 100.

Kill Block, now hosting 6v6 Gunfight in the MW4 Open Beta

6v6 Gunfight on Kill Block is the other new playlist. Weekend One ran 10v10 and 3v3 on that map. Saturday still listed 10v10. Today the published list is 6v6. Combat Outpost, Hijack, and Zodiac Resurgence stay up.

Operator Select

Infinity Ward is still chasing Operator hair and model quality across platforms. Weekend Two forced temporal dithering on so nearby colours blend across frames. Today they tighten Operator model streaming when you open the Operator Selection Menu, so models on less powerful hardware are not supposed to flash in at a lower visual quality.

The stated end state: Price keeps a fuller hairline however you play. Long-distance hair is still a launch item, not a Beta one.

Multiplayer bug fixes

  • Combat Outpost — poor streaming quality at the start of a match; fixed.

Infinity Ward is tracking live Multiplayer issues throughout Open Beta.

Warzone

Sunday’s Zodiac notes are a pickup and HUD pass. No weapon table today.

Ground loot

Ground loot interactions are tightened so items are easier to pick up on purpose. The weapon interaction radius was larger than intended, so you could grab a gun when you meant a nearby item. That radius now matches loot items in the live game.

HUD, damage, and shake

  • Armor Hit Damage Indicator — clearer when you are breaking an enemy’s Armor.
  • Blood and Death’s Door — visual effects pulled back toward the intended mix.
  • HUD Shake — disabled for the rest of Open Beta.
  • Screen Shake and Gun Shake — values reduced so the picture moves less while you fire.

Saturday added a HUD Widget Shake toggle. Today they just turn HUD Shake off for the test. The goal is target tracking, not immersion.

Warzone bug fixes

  • The Downed State Icon could fail to show when an opponent was downed; fixed.
  • The Loot Feed could appear well after the associated pickup; fixed.
  • A main-menu loop that required a restart; fixed.

What’s next

Open Beta runs through September 1. Infinity Ward says they will keep patching every full day of the test. Send feedback with media or a match ID.
